Here are some examples of some challenges I have successfully completed through the years. These are the ones that stand out simply because it was something that had never been attempted. There was absolutely no support or direction provided by the vendor. In some cases large consulting companies had attempted some of these challenges with larger teams and far more resources available to them before I came in.
These were what I call “Shooting for the moon” kind of requirements that make grown men cry. I could not have designed or built it without the help of usually one or two critical team members. We usually worked in teams of no more than three team members. For these projects I was lucky to have a business user or functional lead who were creative and seriously motivated to be successful. It always helps to have someone who is a sharp and fast thinker who can visualize the picture.
